Winter is a popular time to visit Canada for its ski resorts and other snow activities, but summer makes Canada even more appealing and welcoming with pleasant temperatures, exciting cities, and epic outdoor activities.
The following are some of our favourite summer getaway destinations in Canada.
- Victoria, British Columbia
Anyone looking to have a fun cultural experience will enjoy a trip to Victoria. There are lots of festivals in this capital city, including the Fringe Festival, beer festivals, and vegan festivals. You can find many farm-to-table restaurants here to satisfy your inner foodie, and then work the extra calories off by hiking nearby trails. Other fun outdoor things to do in Victoria include taking a craft beer biking tour, checking out local gardens, and going kayaking. There are also historic castles in Victoria, the oldest lighthouse on the West Coast of Canada, and plenty of sightseeing excursions that will teach you about the city's history.
- Toronto, Ontario
You can enjoy the Toronto summer festival scene by attending events such as Blue Jays games and food festivals. You can also buy farm-fresh produce and unique souvenirs at Toronto's summer markets. The Distillery District has a number of restaurants with outdoor seating. The Bruce Trail makes for a great hiking trail, and Niagara Parks is a great biking area.
- Jasper National Park, Alberta
If you're looking for a summer mountain getaway with lots of fun activities and serene tranquillity, Jasper National Park is the perfect place. Although it's close to Banff National Park, Jasper tends to be a little quieter and there are plenty of choices to be made. The recently constructed skywalk offers stunning views of waterfalls, and giant glaciers while offering views of Athabasca Falls, Maligne Lake, and the Columbia Icefields.
Camping in Jasper is also an excellent way to make camping memories and sleep under the Canadian night sky.
- Fundy National Park
While in the Fundy National Park area, travellers will enjoy experiencing a pristine coastline and the highest tides in the world as well as experiencing a bit of Atlantic Canadian culture. There are also many other sites nearby worth visiting while you’re in this area, including the Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site, Kouchibouguac National Park, Fort Beauséjour, and, Andrew’s Blockhouse National Historic Site.

When the weather is warm, this bilingual city offers a lot of festivals, culinary events, and outdoor dining options. Visiting Montreal is a great way to get a European experience without having to travel overseas. Music lovers will enjoy attending the International Jazz Festival and other local concerts.
- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
It's fun to visit the Saskatoon area of Saskatchewan in the summer for an agro-tourism adventure. There are many local farms in this area that provide fresh foods and homegrown products, especially berries during the summer, which make this area popular with foodies. In addition to running, walking, and biking, the South Saskatchewan River is ideal for kayaking and canoeing. A popular family vacation spot in the area is Grasslands National Park.
- Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
Take a trip to Cape Breton Island during the summer for the ultimate summer vacation. Try the freshest seafood, visit breweries and distilleries, and attend impromptu kitchen parties. One of the most beautiful places in Canada is the winding, world-renowned Cabot Trail. Explore the trail and enjoy scenic overlooks, beaches, cultural heritage sites, and outdoor activities.
You can spot puffins with Bird Island Boat Tours. Whale and seal cruises are another enjoyable way to explore Canada in the summer. With a guided North River Kayak tour, you can explore the unspoiled coastline of St. Ann's Bay.
Tip
If you are planning a trip to these wonderful places, firstly get travel insurance coverage for your trip that will cover you with most of the medical expenses and many other coverages. Because in Canada medical is much more expensive than you think. So, it is better to have insurance coverage that covers most of the expenses while your trip.
